Oak or Cherry Hand Carved bowls with Pewter Inserts - £95 - SOLD but can make similar to order
Slices of British wood hand carved to create shallow bowls. Then partially burned using the japanese technique of Shou Sugi Ban to create a striking two tone effect. I then poured moulten pewter into the natural cracks to create elemental bowls, each one different in size, shape and texture. Finally finished with Danish Oil to preserve and enhance the narural look of the wood.
'INUKSUK' - Art Deco Christian Barman Heater - £250 - SOLD but have another example of the same heater that can be finished to your specification.
Christian Barman was an influential propaganist for the Modern Movement. As well as being an architect and product designer, he was editor of 'The Architectural Review' and Publicity Officer for London Transport.
His fan heater - a classic image of 1930s streamlined industrial design - derives its effect from its reflective curvilinear form of stacked cylinders. Its designer, Christian Barman, the editor of Architectural Review and later publicity officer for the London Passenger Transport Board, was an influential propagandist for the modern movement.
There is one on display both in the V&A museum in London and MOMA in New York

This heater is very reminiscent of the new-look motor cars of America and Britain in 1933 and 1934, when streamlining and aerodynamics were coming to the fore.
Unfortunately this example was beyond repair as far as the heating system went and also the original enamel had chipped in many places. I therefore decided to create this amazing lamp from it.
It is fitted with a remote control colour changing bulb that can hold on one colour, even plain white. It can also fade slowly from one colour to another or flash from one to another in “party mode”. This could easily be replaced with a normal bulb if so desired
It is painted with textured sandstone paint to resemble a pile of stones similar to the Inuksuks which are navigational cairns built by indigenous peoples of the arctic to provide points of reference where here are few landmarks.
I have just taken possession of another example so if you would like a different finish then this can be made to order.
